Animals always bring a bit of cheer

Goodness me what an incredibly cold week you’ve had I do hope the weather warms up for you soon and you get some signs of autumn. Here in London the storms thankfulness have passed. I thought we all needed some cheer this week and I always think animals provide that.
A budgerigar has been in the news this week, he was found in a car park. The transport police have taken him to live at their station and he is receiving good care. He has been named Robert and he has been made a new recruit and goes by the name of PC Barry. Hopefully he will be reunited with his owners.
I saw a lovely item about a toad who made her home in a pair of trainers. The shoes belonged to a woman called Sita Hood, she assumed the toad would hop away, but it remained till it was time to hibernate. She named the toad Jabba and Sita was very surprised when Jabba returned the following year. The shoes must have been very comfy.
An Egyptian couple found an octopus stranded on the beach and it looked very poorly.
They decided to take the octopus to deeper water, the next day they returned to check on the octopus. It was alive and well it then followed the couple along the beach for an hour, occasionally teaching out a tentacle, as if to shake hands and say thank you. It then went out to sea, what a well mannered octopus.
It isn’t uncommon for animals to enter homes, however the Saunder family were surprised when a rooster strutted in and made a perch on the ceiling fan. The rooster called Ronnie made himself at home and the family love him. He follows them around and wakes them up crowing every morning. Not my idea of a guest.
Bloggers have a good week take care over and out London.

Uplifting stories

I do hope that you are all keeping warm I’ve seen the temperature is very low and more
snow forecast. England has been battered by three storms thankfully winds have dropped now the rain is heavy. Time for some uplifting stories I thought.
I was really happy to see a photo of a mother chimpanzee tending her sons wounded foot. The photo was taken in Gabon Loango National park animal sanctuary. The mother, on seeing her sons wound, catches an insect puts it in her mouth and then applies it to the wound. The scientists then looked for more examples of chimpanzee’s nurturing behaviour and they found it. This proves that chimpanzees can be empathetic.
In the Seychelles the oldest living animal has been recorded. It’s a tortoise called Jonathan he is 190 years old. He is still eating and mating and needs very little support.
Once a week, he is hand fed, as he has lost his sense of smell so needs help to track his food. How’s that for longevity.
A man who has stolen the heart of many people due to his generosity is Sadio Mane. He played for his country Senegal in the African World Cup. Senegal won and Sadio won the player of the tournament. He also plays in the Uk for Liverpool. He uses his large pay check to fund projects in the Uk and Senegal. He doesn’t spend his money on flash cars or phones but prefers to help people. He has built a school, hospital and an academy in Senegal.
In India there has been a lot of deforestation so a plan was put into place to plant trees to heal the environment. In the state of Madhya Pradesh more than 50 million trees were planted in a day!!! People queued up to plant trees. What wonderful community spirit.
I hope that you have a good week keep as warm as you can over and out London.
